Brendan Eich, a Netscape programmer developed a scripting language called Mocha in September 1995.
And it was developed in only 10 days later it was renamed to LiveScript then to
JavaScript. Before developing of JavaScript, web pages were only static and they do not have potential for dynamic behavior.
JavaScript was initially implemented in Netscape Navigator, which was the most popular browser at that time.
Then Microsoft adopted JavaScript for Internet Explorer for its potential and simplicity.
JavaScript has gained immense popularity since its release in 1995. According to Statista,
more than 63% of developers are using JavaScript worldwide today and it surpassed other languages such as Python and Java. What makes JavaScript so developer-friendly is the fact that it is relatively easy to learn and allows developers to rapidly build apps with massive
audiences.
Throughout its history, JavaScript has played a pivotal role in shaping the web and contributing to the development of rich, interactive, and dynamic online experiences. Its journey from a language primarily used for client-side scripting to a versatile and widely-used programming language reflects the constant evolution of web technologies.
